Elections of mayors are cancelled

Today at an emergency meeting in Samara Regional Duma in two readings the deputies adopted a new law. It is about the order of election of mayors in Samara Region.

We should remind the fact that on the 21st of October in regional parliament the governor Nikolay Merkushkin introduced the project of this law. According to the project the head will be elected from the composition of the local Duma, besides he will execute powers of a chairman. Also a city manager, working in the city, will be engaged in economic activities.

In Samara region elections� cancellation will concern the heads of four cities: Togliatti, Pokhvistnevo, Chapaevsk and Novokuybyshevsk. Relevant laws are already adopted in other municipalities.
