Regional robots R2D2 championship ended in Samara

In Samara, on the basis of the "Expo-Volga" exhibition center the II regional championship of mobile "R2-D2" robots took place in the framework of the international exhibition-forum «Education. The science. Business – 2014».

According to the provincial government, the aim of the tournament was the development of intellectual and creative potential of pupils and students of educational institutions in the Samara region. Its purpose was to attract talented young people to the sphere of high technologies, to promote the process of popularization of engineering and technical professions. The tournament was held in three age categories among 280 pupils and students of the Samara region, including Togliatti. More than 3000 people visited the competition.

In the framework of the tournament the Department of IT and communication, SSAU and non-commercial partnership "The regional design center of assistance of the dissemination of knowledge in the sphere of social and economic and information technologies" signed an agreement on the implementation of the program "Formation of human resources for the aerospace industry through the development of technical creativity of children and youth in the sphere of robotics - R2D2 Samara".
